An airport transfer is easiest when the operational details are settled before the aircraft lands. A booking name and arrival time are useful, but they are not enough to identify a changing flight or an accessible meeting point.
Before sending the request
Share the airport, airline, flight number, scheduled arrival date, and the phone that will work after landing. Add the complete destination address rather than only the hotel name. If the accommodation is inside a medina or restricted street, the driver may need to use the nearest vehicle-accessible point.
Count every traveller, including children, and list large bags separately. Pushchairs, wheelchairs, surfboards, golf bags, and other long items should be declared explicitly. They can change the appropriate vehicle even when the passenger count is small.
Check the written confirmation
The confirmation should identify the route, fare, payment method, requested vehicle class, meeting point, and a contact for arrival coordination. A submitted form or an opened WhatsApp conversation is not itself a confirmed driver assignment.
Airport procedures and public meeting areas can change. Use the location in the current confirmation instead of relying on an old message, blog post, or generic instruction.
After landing
Turn on the phone associated with the booking and allow time for immigration and baggage collection. If the flight, terminal, or baggage situation changes, update the same booking conversation. Keeping the details in one thread reduces the chance of conflicting instructions.
Before leaving the terminal, verify the driver or coordinator details against the confirmation. Never accept an unexpected fare change without asking the coordinator to explain and confirm it in writing.
Quick checklist
- Flight number and correct arrival date
- Reachable WhatsApp number
- Full destination or accessible meeting point
- Total travellers and child-seat requests
- Large and oversized luggage
- Written fare, payment method, and meeting instructions
With these items confirmed, the airport pickup becomes a defined journey rather than an improvised taxi search.
